L. Elizabeth White

L. Elizabeth White migrated from the American South to the Midwest in the 1950s.  With her sights set on economic advancement, "Liz" left behind the Carolina tobacco fields and settled in Toledo, Ohio.  Equipped with a solid educational foundation and real-life experiences, Liz entered the public service sector as a parking meter maid and earned a career as a public utilities worker for the City of Toledo.

L. Elizabeth White achieved her goal. She improved the quality of life and overall well-being for herself, her family and her community.  Throughout her 88 years of life, L. Elizabeth White served others, giving her love, time and resources to anyone in need.

L. Elizabeth White held many titles, including a child of God, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.

It is our prayer that L. Elizabeth White knows her title and role as Grandmother ensures her legacy and acts of service continue.

"I love you forever and always, Grandma."
